FAQ about ac cages

Our AC cages are a protective deterring device made with steel and secured to the ground to protect your outdoor air conditioning system. The cage is custom fitted to your unit to limit tampering that could require you to replace your entire HVAC system. 

The theft of HVAC condensers/compressors is on the rise, and not because criminals want heating and cooling. Instead, they desire the valuable copper, platinum and other metals inside the unit, which can be sold for a profit. Thieves are much less likely to target an item that’s difficult and time-consuming to steal, especially if there’s easier opportunity just down the street. That's why an AC cage is the best way to deter criminals and protect your investment.

When any part of your HVAC is damaged, in most cases, the entire system must be replaced. Depending on the property, this can cost anywhere between $3,000-$10,000.  Protecting your unit with an AC cage is an affordable and easy way to prevent you from paying thousands of dollars for an entirely new HVAC unit. 

We keep it simple. Start by contacting us (463) 204-4362 and providing the dimensions of your current or future AC unit, and we will begin building your custom cage and discuss a date for installation. Once an install date is scheduled, you can kick back and relax. We show up, install and secure your cage around the unit, lock it, and give you the key. That's all! 

We ask for about one week's notice when requesting an AC cage. We try our best to keep standard sizes in stock, but also offer custom-built cages to better protect your specific unit size.

We serve a variety of customers including residential, commercial, and anything between. We bring our installation service anywhere within the Indianapolis Metro area and surrounding regions and the St Louis Metro area.  We are always growing and looking for new areas to expand too.

Each cage is carefully installed based on it's current or future foundation and set up. If your unit is located on a concrete slab, the cage will be anchored to the pad. If your unit is directly on the ground, it is secured with concrete 10-12 inches deep underground. 

Our AC cages are built with serviceability in mind. Our custom cages feature a slide-out lid on the top allowing for easy access when HVAC service and repair is required. Each slide-out lid is equipped with a padlock securing capability, so only you and trusted service providers can access your unit. We can provide you with a padlock and key for an additional fee as well. 

Once you schedule an install date, your installer will show up to the address you have provided with your custom cage ready to go. They will then locate the HVAC unit and begin installing. It won't take long and we promise not to bother you. You do not have to be present during your install unless you wish.

Yesterday! No really, ASAP.  As mentioned above, theft is on the rise, making it crucial that you protect your AC unit as soon as possible. We will work with your HVAC installer to ensure your new unit is covered directly following being put into service.  We try to get all of our AC Cages installed within 24-48 hours whenever possible.
